"Take a one of a kind voice, a commanding stage presence, and a killer songwriter who can conjure up the long lonesome feeling of bluegrass music with a stealth and hearty vocal like no other."  --Bill Barnett, Saltymoss Media

Edgar Loudermilk Band

Rural Rhythm Records recording artist Edgar Loudermilk’s signature voice, bass skills, and songwriting are a family tradition for this Louvin Brothers’ descendant. Loudermilk’s distinctive and powerful vocals cut to the heart of a song, while also winning over audiences with his friendly, down-home style.  Having experienced a long tenure of performing, including several industry awards, with IIIrd Tyme Out, Rhonda Vincent, and Marty Raybon, Edgar has also had monumental success with the IBMA Emerging Artist nomination for his duo work with Adkins & Loudermilk. Edgar wrote or co-wrote the majority of the music that topped and still remains on the bluegrass charts from the Adkins & Loudermilk album release. Edgar's music is a mainstay on bluegrass radio and he has been a "Most Played" Sirius Bluegrass Radio Musician since his start.

In addition to touring and performing, Edgar Loudermilk has had great success as a songwriter, with numerous self-penned songs recorded within the industry, many of which have been recorded by other artists.  To quote Edgar, "I see songwriting as much of a calling as singing.  Songwriting is a big part of it for me.  Playing and singing is great fun and a good time, and we love the audiences, but the art of crafting words and music into a song is very rewarding."

In 2017, Edgar's self-penned song, "Can't Live Life," was recorded by Rhonda Vincent & Daryle Singletary as part of their "American Grandstand" album--that album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart, and in July of 2017, it was on Billboard's Top 10 of Top Current Country Albums, as well as No.1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album Chart for the week of July 29, 2017.  The album went on to be #1 on Splice Today's Top 10 Country Albums of 2017.

In 2015, Edgar stepped out forming his own band with highly acclaimed guitarist, Jeff Autry.  The Edgar Loudermilk Band, featuring Jeff Autry  released the well-received "Georgia Maple" album in 2016, garnering significant airplay. In 2018 the band released a single, “It’s a Way of Life That Stands the Test of Time,” debuting in the Top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Airplay charts. Written by Loudermilk and Wayne Benson, the 2018 release received fantastic audience response during the band’s live performances on their coast-to-coast tours.

In 2019 the Edgar Loudermilk Band released "Lonesome Riverboat Blues" on the Rural Rhythm Records label.  The CD's title track, "Lonesome Riverboat Blues" garnered much success with spending more than a dozen weeks in Top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Bluegrass Airplay charts, as well as charting numerous times on Bluegrass Unlimited's National Bluegrass Survey.   “Lonesome Riverboat Blues,” reached #1 status on the Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction “Most Played” status for July, 2019.

In early 2021, the Edgar Loudermilk Band saw chart action from two self-penned songs on their upcoming CD, “The Dark Side of Lonesome,” with the release of the title track and their second release, “I’ll Put The Blame On You.”

The band...while the band’s vocal arrangements meld together like a tightly woven tapestry, the musicianship in this band is spot on every performance.  On mandolin is the highly accomplished Zack Autry, son of well-known guitarist Jeff Autry.  While the instrument may be different than what his father plays, Zack’s attention to detail and precision is evidence that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”   Zack picked up the mandolin when he was 8 years old and has since been lighting up stages with his musicianship.   Zack is also a co-writer on several of the band's songs, as well as sharing the lead vocals on various song selections.

Guitarist Jamey Pittman's clean and diverse musical stylings are well suited for the Edgar Loudermilk Band's wide catalog of music.  Pittman handles everything from the straight-up, hard driving bluegrass to the jazzy swing styles that have become an Edgar Loudermilk Band trademark.  Pittman's musical stylings echo everything from Flatt & Scruggs to Frank Zappa.

Delivering the drive on banjo is IBMA 2022 Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year Nominee,  Anthony Howell.  Anthony, an award-winning banjo player from Mississippi, secured 3rd place in the 2022 National Bluegrass Banjo Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival.  The 2021 Alabama State Championship banjo title also belongs to this accomplished banjo aficionado.  With a strong right hand and creative melodic style, Anthony has a unique take on the banjo, which readily embraces the musical stylings of the Edgar Loudermilk Band.

The Edgar Loudermilk Band tours coast-to-coast and throughout Canada.  In addition, the band is proud to be on the Rural Rhythm Records label.
